San Luis Obispo, CA
Farm Supply is a three-building retail complex in San Luis Obispo. The main 24,000 square foot building houses the sales area for a wide variety of items, including hardware, clothing, animal supplies, and gardening items. Additional buildings are used for hay and fertilizer storage, sales, and pump and well equipment repair. The site also includes a complete nursery.
The design concept was to establish a company image that would reflect the business and, as the headquarters facility, set the standard for other future locations. An agrarian theme was chosen to recall the hundred-year tradition of working with the local agricultural community.
Steel construction was utilized to provide an open floor plan and interior volume. The exteriors utilized a combination of brick wainscots and wood siding with metal roofing.
